Champions league re-visit

I know it is painful to rethink about that night again, where we so close of making a history. But when I see the match highlight again, one thing came apparent to me about Rafael sending off. There were no manu player pressuring the referee. Well it seems I am note taking the morale high road here but lets face it that referee do get influenced by the players . For the first yellow card, it seems that there we no manu players pleading Rafael case. I know the challenge was cynical but it was nothing compared to Demichelis tackle. And for the second yellow card, there we none manu players anywhere near the referee when all the Bayern player are surrounding him. When Gibson and Carrick finally approach him, he has already made up his mind. What came to me is that this would not happen if Giggs, Neiville or Scholes was playing. Their experience head should have alerted them that Rafael is in danger of sending off and would have quickly made their opinion to the referee to save him. On that night the most experience player we had in our team is Van der sar and he was very far away and I was disappointed that Ferdinand did not say anything. And for the midfield there were no big personalities that could have done anything. Rooney was injured and or else he would have sprinted to referee. For me this was the most disappointing thing that no one have step up as a leader in the team at that night. However, I do believe they will grow more mature but I just hope that it wont take more painful memories before they do.
